Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry

 

🥢 Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients (Serves 3–4):

  • 1 lb flank steak (or sirloin), thinly sliced against the grain

  • 3 cups broccoli florets

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional but recommended)

For the Sauce:

  • ½ cup beef broth (or water)

  • ⅓ cup soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar (or honey)

  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for depth)

  • 2 tsp cornstarch + 2 Tbsp water (slurry to thicken)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)


Instructions:

  1. Prep Sauce

    • In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

    • Stir in cornstarch slurry and set aside.

  2. Cook Broccoli

    • In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 Tbsp oil over medium-high.

    • Add broccoli with a splash of water. Stir-fry 3–4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Remove and set aside.

  3. Cook Beef

    • Add remaining 1 Tbsp oil to the skillet.

    • Add sliced beef in a single layer, cook 2–3 minutes until browned but not overcooked.

    • Stir in garlic and ginger, cook 30 seconds.

  4. Combine & Sauce

    • Return broccoli to the skillet.

    • Pour sauce over beef and broccoli, stirring until thickened (1–2 minutes).

  5. Serve

    • Serve hot over steamed white rice, brown rice, or noodles.


Total Time: ~20 minutes
🥡 Great with: sesame seeds or sliced green onions sprinkled on top
