Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

🦐 Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (about half a box) spaghetti or linguine

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, adjust to taste)

  • ½ lemon (juice + zest)

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese (optional, but delicious)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook Pasta

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    • Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.

    • Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

  2. Cook Shrimp

    • Pat shrimp dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper.

    • In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp butter + 2 Tbsp olive oil over medium heat.

    • Add shrimp in a single layer, cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make Garlic Butter Sauce

    • In the same skillet, add remaining 2 Tbsp butter.

    • Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté about 1 minute (don’t let garlic burn).

    • Add lemon juice and zest, stirring to combine.

  4. Combine Everything

    • Add cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing in the garlic butter sauce.

    • If pasta looks dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.

    • Return shrimp to the skillet, toss to coat.

  5. Finish & Serve

    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and parmesan.

    • Serve with extra lemon wedges on the side.

Total Time: 20–25 minutes
